Patriot Golf Day Helps Educate Veterans Kids

imageIt’s all over the media, but worth repeating here. Patriot Golf Day will be held this Labor Day Weekend, September 4 – 7 at your local course, with proceeds going to the Folds of Honor Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides postsecondary educational scholarships for the children and spouses of veterans killed or disabled in the service of the United States. Adding an extra dollar to your greens fees on those days has resulted in more than $3 million in donations and more than 550 scholarships.

The first Patriot Golf Day was held in 2007, and was organized by Major Dan Rooney, founder of Fields of Honor. He’s an F-16 pilot, a PGA Professional, and a USGA member.

Mrs. GolfBlogger is an Air Force Captain, and a veteran of the first Gulf War, so we at GolfBlogger World Headquarters enthusiastically support this program.
