As soon as the weather turns cold, my golfing friends switch their headwear to stocking caps to keep warm. The problem with this is that the beanies don’t protect from the sun. You can get melanoma from winter rays just as from summer sun.
My solution is a Tilley winter weight wool broad brimmed hat and a pair of these 180s ear warmers. They wrap around the back of the head, so they don’t interfere with the hat, and I get protection from both sun and cold.
The hat at the link does have built-in ear warmers, but I don’t find them as comfortable as the 180s. So they stay tucked up into the crown.
