The PGA Tour has unveiled its fall lineup for next year.
Following the regular season-ending Fed Ex Championship, the Tour will offer seven more tournaments intended for second-tier players—especially those trying to earn enough to keep their cards.
The events are $6 million event at Turning Stone Resort, followed by the Viking Classic at Annandale Golf Club in Jackson, Miss. ($3.5 million); the Valero Texas Open ($4.5 million); Frys.com Open in Las Vegas ($4 million); Fry’s Electronics Open at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. ($5 million); Running Horse Golf Championship in Fresno, Calif ($4.5 million; and Disney ($4.6 million). The Disney last ended the golf season in 1982
I’m interested in the fact that Frys is sponsoring two of the tournaments. Frys is a legendary Silicon Valley electronics retailer, but I had no idea that it was that well-heeled.
