2022 PGA TOUR Champions Schedule
The 2022 PGA TOUR Champions schedule reflects a growing interest in the senior tour. The 2022 season offers players some $62 million in prize money — the most in Champions Tour history.
Among the highlights are visits to twenty different states to go with three international stops (Morocco, Scotland and Canada).
I am especially excited to see that the tour is returning to Morocco to play the Trophy Hassan II at Royal Golf Dr Es Salam. I had the good fortune to be able to play there as part of my golf trip to Morocco a couple of years ago. The Robert Trent Jones course is fantastic.
One of the reasons for the increasing interest surely is the participation of a prominent new generation of fifty-somethings on the tour, including Phil Mickelson, David Duval, Justin Leonard, Jim Furyk, Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Steve Stricker and Kenny Perry. These are all players who became well known on the regular tour during the media frenzy around Tiger’s heyday.
And then there’s Bernhard Langer. There might always be Bernhard Langer.
I’m hoping to be able to make a trip to the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship at Harbor Shores in Michigan this next May. I’ll also probably go to the Ally Challenge at Warwick Hills in Grand Blanc, Michigan in August. I stayed away this past two years because I didn’t want to be in a crowd in the middle of a Pandemic. But now that I’ve had my shots …
