3M Open Winners and History
The 3M Open is the successor to the 3M Championship, a PGA TOUR Champions event held from 1993 – 2018. Like the 3M Championship, the 3M open is held at TPC Twin Cities.
3M stands for “Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing.” The Minnesota-based conglomerate produces — among other things — tape, sticky notes (3M invented sticky notes) and other adhesives; sandpaper and other abrasives; laminates, personal protective gear such as googles and protective eyewear; window films to protect against uv rays and offer insulation; medical products such as bandages; electrical connecting and insulating materials; car-care products, electronic circuits, healthcare software and optical films. 3M is one of those companies that you don’t realize is ubiquitous until you start looking.
