A California company (where else?) is thinking outside the box and has developed a new kind of golf cart.
Called a GadAbout (after its inventor, Gad Shaanan), it is lightweight, battery operated and could sell in the $2,500 range.
Gad believes that the GadAbout could lower the prices that courses charge for a cart, because they would be a smaller capital investment. Fat chance. Courses would charge the same, or more (on the novelty factor) and picket the difference. Carts are a cash cow, the reason why caddies have disappeared (owners don’t have to share money with a cart), and teh reason why so many charge you for a cart even if you insist on walking.
I hate carts.
But this one looks pretty cool.

It looks uncomfortable, but cool. But I guess that’s what it takes nowadays.
