Stop making excuses about money and go to Scotland. Yes, the cost is significant but you shouldn’t wait until you are too old to walk 36 and savor the memories. In the long run the money is barely going to be noticed among all the college tuition costs, long term care, etc…

Sadly, teacher salaries are going backward, while the cost of living keeps going up. I had my best year eight years ago. 🙁
