Teacher’s Comments: I’ve found they work in helping me get to sleep.

During the school year, it is hard for this teacher to turn off his brain. From the 5 a.m. alarm for a 7 a.m. school start to late at night, my brain runs full-tilt managing 36-student classrooms, planning multiple lessons, grading papers, contacting parents, analyzing data and filling out the seemingly endless busy work created by the state legislature for teachers, such as documenting my success in achieving my own “growth goals.”

At this point, I’ve got one goal: Make it to retirement without dying from COVID brought in by one of my students.

Rant aside, I’ve long sought ways to relax and turn off my brain. Reading before bed helps, as does a Benadryl.

And in recent tests, so do the Altwell CBD Gummies.

The Altwell CBD Gummies contain 25mg of broad spectrum hemp extract, along with melatonin and L-theanine.

Melatonin is a natural body hormone that works on the sleep cycle. It increases when it is dark and decreases with the light of day. Your body produces less of it as you age, so supplements are sometimes prescribed to treat sleep disorders.

L-theanine is an amino acid found in tea that is said to ease anxiety, stress and insomnia.

And of course, some studies have shown that CBD can help reduce stress and anxiety on its own.

I of course have not done a scientific study, and am not a medical professional, but on a purely anecdotal level, I think the Altwell CBD Gummies work for me. I have eaten them close to bedtime, felt drowsy within half an hour and then checked out like an extinguished candle.

The Altwell CBD gummies come in two flavors: Ginger Peach and Grapefruit. My sample was Ginger Peach. It’s a nice flavor. I’m not a fan of peach in particular, but the ginger really gives it a nice zing.

The CBD content is derived from handpicked flowers with no stems or leaves. The company says it contains offers a variety of compounds, terpenes and flavanoids with only trace amounts of THC. The plants are grown organically in Colorado, and the entirety is tested.

Altwell says the gummies are vegan, and contain Organic Tapioca Syrup, Organic Cane Sugar, Pectin, Pea Starch, Medium Chain Triglycerides, less than 1% of: Citric Acid, Natural Flavors, Sodium Citrate, Turmeric Powder and/or Fruit and Vegetable Extract (added for color) and Organic Monk Fruit Extract.

They are 20 calories each.

If you’re already a CBD user, or if you have an open mind about CBD and clearance from your medical professional, I think the Altwell CBD Gummies are worth checking out.

I’ll be sad when my sample supply runs out.
