Altwell Sports Balm With CBD Review

Altwell Sports Balm with CBD
Grade: A
Teachers’ Comments: I think it works. It’s no miracle cure, but I believe it has given me some lower back pain relief.

My lower back is a mess. Unstable discs irritate nerves, which causes muscles to spasm and then lock and the next thing I know, I’m flat on my back for days.

I’ve fought off surgery for literally decades by working out on the exercise bike, lifting weights, stretching and going for daily walks (especially on the golf course). I’ve also tried a large variety of creams and balms to help with the muscle soreness.

The Altwell Sports Balm With CBD has been a fairly effective weapon against the occasional muscle pain that comes with my disc issues. Of course it does nothing about the nerve pain, but I think it has helped with relaxing the muscle in the surrounding areas. That helps to stop the cascading series of events that put me on my back.

I can live with the pain. It’s the tightening muscles that wreck me.

Ingredients in the Balm are Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Full Spectrum Hemp Distillate (CBD Oil), Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Calophyllum Inophyllum Seed Oil, Parfum.

The CBD content is 1000 mg full spectrum from handpicked flowers but no stems or leaves. The company says it contains offers a variety of compounds, terpenes and flavanoids with only trace amounts of THC. The plants are grown organically in Colorado, and the entirety is tested

Noticeably missing from the balm are menthol and camphor, key ingredients in many sports balms. The Altwell doesn’t offer that cooling sensation, but instead feels slightly warm. I think it smells of pepper, sage, and thyme. It’s actually a very nice scent.

Altwell Sports Balm has a very creamy, yet thick consistency. It is not at all greasy. In this, I find the Altwell superior to more well-known over the counter sports balms which are either runny out of the tube, or too thick in their tin to effectively apply.

I’ll finish here with the caveat that I apply to all such product reviews: I did not conduct a scientific study and there is no objective way to know that it works (any more than I have an objective means of knowing if something like Icy Hot or Blue Emu work). My muscles are sore, I apply the cream and sometime later it feels better. Would they have felt better if I had done nothing? Perhaps. But I don’t think so.

My belief is that the Altwell sports balm has helped calm my inflamed muscles. In on-again, off-again use over a month of living with my angry lower back, the on-agains are better than the off-agains.

I recommend giving it a try.
