The American Family Insurance Championship teed off for its inaugural playing in 2016.
Hosted by Steve Stricker, a Wisconsin Native, the tournament is played at the University Ridge Golf Course in Madison.
Sticker, who will turn fifty and become eligible for the Champions Tour in 2017, will both play and host in the future. Stricker co-chairs the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation, founded in 2013.
University Ridge is a Robert Trent Jones, Jr. course dating to 1991 and is the home course for the University of Wisconsin. It measures 7,259-yards. University Ridge derives its name from the landscape features left by the last retreating glacier. The course sits on the terminal moraine, where the Wisconsin Glacier stopped, forming the backbone of the ridge that separates the land into groups of rolling hills and valleys. The natural ridge dictated course construction and Jones followed the contours of the land to create a natural setting that overlooks the City of Madison
