And One More To Go

We’re down to just one more event in the 2010 PGA Tour Campaign. And it’s not for two weeks. Broadcast on the Golf Channel, the Children’s Miracle Network Classic will be Nov. 11 – 14 at Disney World. After that, there’s nothing for men’s pro golf fans until January’s SBS Championship in Maui.

It’s been a strange year, and its going to take a while for all the post-mortems to catch up. I’d be interested in knowing what you’ll remember about the year in golf.  Off the top of my head, I’m thinking about Tiger’s meltdown, Dustin Johnson’s two near misses, Ernie Els’ hot start and slow finish, Mickelson’s inability to close on number one, and Duval playing himself back to a Tour card.

  1. Really stunned you can say there’s nothing for men’s golf fans til January.

For starters, I was surprised you didn’t mention that The HSBC Champions is next week, and it is an official World Golf Championship event in China. Nearly all the top players in golf will be playing.

The European Tour concludes the last week of November with the Dubai World Championship, and there will be tons of great golfers there.

Finally, Tiger’s mini-event, the Chevron World Challege, is the first week of December, and features a strong field. And even though it’s not officially sponsored by any tour, it still counts for World Golf Ranking points, which are definitely valuable.

  2. Thanks, just wondering, why can’t you get excited about the HSBC? All the top players in the world and a WGC event. Obviously it’s middle of the night TV coverage.
