Golf equipment endorsements have never made sense to me. No golfer buys a set of clubs because a particular pro plays the brand. We all know that the highly customized clubs they play are not the same sticks we buy off the racks. I’ve seen a clubmaker in a tour van bend a fairway wood half a degree because a player thought he needed the adjustment for that particular tournament.
Arby’s signing of Andrew “Beef” Johnson, on the other hand, is genius. I can believe this guys knows a thing or two about roast beef. Beginning with the PGA Championship, Johnston will wear the Arby’s logo on his sleeve and hat.
