In a recent conversation, the question came up as to whether there are any songs about golf. I know that there are several humorous golf cds out there, but are there any legitimate tunes by real artists?
I can’t think of any. Leave a comment if you know of one.

It falls under “funny” songs, there is one called “Big Nellie May” by Alex Beaton, and it is available on iTunes. Alex is a headline scottish singer for the festivals around the country. Alex was on a scramble team with me last April in Arkasas. He was our “A” player, probably around a 8-10 handicap. My dad & uncle were the C & D players. Anytime it gets to the point where I am the B player, that’s not good.
Golf and Songs? Those two words don’t even sound right together. i don’t have an itunes account but would love to hear it. Do I smell a future post, possibly containing the song?
In 1957 Bing Crosby recorded a song about golf called “Straight down the middle”. It was written for Bing by Cahn and Van Heusen. Bing recorded the song Dec. 31, 1957, and would sing it at his yearly clambake at Pebble Beach.

Just watching the Masters, and want to know a song about golf with these lyrics”the little white pill went rolling down the hill and went right into the water” Does anyone know the song and or the singer
I suggest the Tin Cup Soundtrack…. some good songs on there, like “Double Bogey Blues” and “Big Stick”
“Straight down the middle” sung by Bing Crosby amongst others, gonna be played to remember Alan Lawford a great golfer and great Godfather next week.

The song you’re thinking of is Donald the Dub by Frank Crumit.
It uses the same tune that was used as the Song about the Sun by They Might Be Giants.
