Arturo Fuente Sun Grown Royal Salute Review
Arturo Fuente Sun Grown Royal Salute Cigar from Famous Smoke
Grade: A
Teacher’s Comments: A great evening smoke.
Famous Smoke sent a pack of Arturo Fuente Sun Grown Royal Salute Cigars for review more than a month ago. It has, however, been unusually hot and humid here in Michigan, and I have been unwilling to add to the misery with a warm cigar. A recent trip to Northern Michigan for golf, however, offered cooler evenings, and the chance to savor them on a couple of twilight rounds.
Evenings turned out to be a great time choice for the Arturo Fuente Sun Grown Royal Salute. The taste and smell reminded me of roasts such as coffee, chocolate, and cedar on a campfire. Initially, there also was a hint of sweetness. This disappeared after the first half inch or so, and settled down into the more warming flavors. By the end, all I could think of was a cup of coffee with cream. The Arturo Fuente Sun Grown Royal Salute would go great on a deck after dinner with a cup of joe.
The burn on the Royal Salute is steady and long lasting. It was initially tight and a little hard to get going, but once lit, it stayed lit. I found that it was good for twelve to fifteen holes. Construction is superb. My cigars get battered about quite a bit clipped to the cigar holder on my push cart, and this held up well.
At $67 for a box of ten, I think that the Arturo Fuente Royal Salute is a good value.
