In spite of his troubles this year, Tiger Woods is the familiar face atop the odds for the PGA Championship; at this point, he’s a 5/1 favorite. I suppose that the betting parlors must be thinking that the year couldn’t possibly go by without a Woods victory in a Major.
I wonder if a year won’t go by without a Tiger Woods win at all. But of course, this week’s WGC Invitational is as likely as not to result in a Woods victory. He’s won seven times at Firestone.
Bettors are following another predictable path in placing Phil Mickelson next at 10/1, along with Lee Westwood at 14/1, Rory McIlroy at 16/1, Els at 25/1. Anthony Kim, Justin Rose, Luke Donald, Padraig Harrington, Paul Casey and Steve Stricker are in at 33/1.
I’m sure I sound like a broken record, but once again I’m convinced that the winner will come from outside the usual suspects. The full list is below, courtesy of Bodog, the world’s largest betting destination.

Look for Sergio to make his move! Hah!
BTW- I am calling Woods for this weekend.
A guy in my golf group played Firestone in one of the last foursomes last week before it was closed for the tournament this week. He scored an amazing 81 – he is a 5 index right now, but that is still incredible.
