Caddyshack 40th Anniversary Is July 25, 2020

Today — July 25, 2020 — marks the 40th anniversary of the release of the movie Caddyshack.

There’s not much that can be written about this film that has not already been said. It is, simply, one of the most iconic movies of all time.

I enjoy it immensely, and every golfer I know can quote at least one line.

One of the items on my golf bucket list is to play the course on which it was filmed. In those days, it was known as Rolling Hills; it now is Grande Oaks. It likely doesn’t even really resemble the original design. Raymond Floyd redesigned it sometime after 1999 when it was purchased by Wayne Huizenga.

Still, it would be really cool to say that I walked the same property as Carl Spackler, Ty Webb, Danny Noonan, Al Czervik, Judge Smails, et. al.
