Golf in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge include Bald Mountain and Apple Valley at Rumbling Bald resort, the Boone Golf Club, Omni Grove Park Inn, Mount Mitchell and Sequoyah National.
Along the coast, you’ll find Bald Head Island, Nags Head, Albemarle Plantation and Sea Trail Golf Resort.
Outside of the Pinehurst area, central North Carolina features the Arnold Palmer designed Lonnie Poole Golf Course at NC State, Rock Barn, a Champions Tour stop, and Hillanddale Golf Course. Hillandale boasts Donald Ross, Perry Maxwell and George Cobb as architects who have worked on their layout.
For fans of classic golf architecture, North Carolina boasts fifty! Donald Ross courses. Ross made his home in Pinehurst, where he continued to tinker with his masterpiece — Pinehurst#2 until his death in 1948.
