Coins As Ball Markers

My playing partner yesterday used a fifty cent piece to mark his ball, which was nice because it was a change from the usual quarter or nickel. He claimed it was his lucky piece.

That got me to thinking about other possibilities for a unique ball marker, such as a dollar piece, or a foreign coin—perhaps one of those chinese coins with the holes (see the Ebay listings at the link). Then I wondered about ancient coins, and visiting Ebay, discovered that Roman Coins are actually relatively low priced. You can get a bronze one for $1. I’m guessing that those aren’t collector quality, but it’s a ball marker, not a museum piece.

I’m wondering if anyone out there uses a unique ball marker. Let us know.
