Congratulations to Ian Poulter, for his HSBC Champions win.
Poulter is one of my favorite players, for his story is compelling: He began his golfing career as the assistant pro and golf shop manager at the Chesfield Downs Golf Club. That’s the old school way of coming up through the ranks; something we don’t see much of these days.
Poulter now has two WGC titles. I think he’ll have a major before the sun on his career sets.
In the HSBC, Poulter came from four behind, closing with a 7-under 65 Sunday.

Ian Poulter is definitely good enough to win a major. His performances at the majors this year were as good as anyone. He had 3 top 10’s and a top 41.
Poulter has good mental strength required to win a major but just needs to bring his whole game for 4 rounds of a big tournament.
Going on his record it would seem the US Masters is his best chance. He hasn’t finished worse than T27 in the last 6 years there.
