Cottonwood Snow On The Fairways

Cottonwood trees along the fairways of my home course can make it seem as though it is snowing in eighty degree weather. The white sheen that you seen in the fairway is a solid coating of cottonwood seeds and threads. You can’t see it in the photo, but the seeds are actually blowing about like a snowstorm.

The fluffy white, cotton-like fluff makes it difficult to find a white ball in the fairway. My playing partner actually lost one in plain sight. Try as we might, we could not find it. It is, in some ways, just as bad as autumn leaves.

I, on the other hand, had no problem with my Volvik Vivid nuclear orange balls.
