BIG RAPIDS – Crystal Downs Country Club near Frankfort, Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Township and Bay Harbor Golf Club in Petoskey feature renowned golf courses of the ultimate “Bucket List” variety.

The Michigan Golf Hall of Fame (MGHOF), which is managed by the Michigan Golf Foundation, is selling $20 tickets making it possible for three winners to cross one of the hall of fame worthy courses off their “Bucket List.”

Just 550 tickets are being sold for the following selection of prizes: golf for 2 at Crystal Downs Country Club; golf for 3 at Oakland Hills Country Club on the famed South Course; 27 holes of golf for 2 and 1 night’s lodging at Bay Harbor Golf Club.

The “Bucket List” fundraiser supports the MGHOF, which through the Michigan Golf Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, conducts an annual election and hosts an outing and induction ceremony. This year’s induction will be Saturday, June 3, at Ferris State University’s Katke Golf Club. That’s where and when the three winners will be drawn for “The Bucket List Raffle” in concert with the induction of the Hall of Fame Class of 2017.

The recently announced class includes PGA Master Professional Bob Ackerman of West Bloomfield, PGA Professional Brian Cairns of Walled Lake, PGA Tour veteran Tom Gillis of Lake Orion, former LPGA Tour player Suzy Green-Roebuck of Ann Arbor, the late Alex Ross of Detroit who was a U.S. Open winner 110 years ago, and Michigan State University women’s golf coach and 15-time Golf Association of Michigan tournament winner Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll of Haslett.

The “Bucket List” fundraiser should not be confused with the capital campaign that Ferris is currently conducting for expansion of its PGA Golf Management program facilities (PGM Learning Center) at Katke GC. That campaign, which is closing in on its $4 million goal, does have more than a strong link to the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame. The new facilities at Ferris will be the new home of the MGHOF’s heralded collection of portraits, plaques and memorabilia commemorating 113 members, including the likes of Walter Hagen, Chuck Kocsis, Dave Hill, Dan Pohl, Meg Mallon and Kelly Robbins.
