Custom Golf Cowboy Boots From Texas National Outfitters
Texas National Outfitters, on South Congress in Austin, Texas, makes terrific looking cowboy boots. With a team of master craftsmen, the boots are made in-house, under the Republic Boot Co brand. Their Master Bootmakers have made boots for John Wayne, Steve McQueen and countless other celebrities. In addition to cowboy boots, they also make motorcycle, riding, replica and fashion boots.
One of their projects was a set of golf boots. The soles of these custom boots were designed with female screw fittings to allow the owner to insert or remove cleats as needed. Note that the cleats are standard Champs with the little “C” to help indicate wear.
Alexander Kitson, Texas National Outfitters sales manager described the boots when I visited the Austin store, and was kind enough to send these photos along. Kitson said that existing pair of boots also can be retrofitted to accept golf cleats.
I am certain that there are golfers out there — perhaps PGA TOUR pros — who would love to get their hands on a pair of custom golf cowboy boots. Texan Jordan Spieth, for example, probably needs a pair of these.
I am not normally a boot wearer, but Texas National Outfitters had a pair of boots called the Milam, with a glossy black lowers and distressed bison uppers that I thought were absolutely gorgeous. I would totally wear those for a night on the town.
In addition to boots, the Texas National Outfitters store has lots of products by local artisans. Mrs. GolfBlogger, who once was stationed in Texas with the Air Force, got a pair of locally made Texas shaped earrings. They also had some Texas themed golf balls.
