
Gene Davis, General Manager & Golf Course Superintendent at Elk Rapids Golf Club to Lead Michigan Golf Course Superintendents
ACME – Gene Davis, the general manager and Golf Course Superintendent at Elk Rapids Golf Club in Elk Rapids has been elected as the Michigan Golf Course Superintendents Association (MiGCSA) Chapter President for 2025.
Davis is starting his seventh year on the MiGCSA Board of Directors, his 25th year in the golf industry and his 11th year at Elk Rapids G.C. He lives in Elk Rapids with his wife Carissa and his three boys Jackson, 17, Graham, 13, and Rhett 8.
The MiGCSA held its 18th annual meeting and election on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at Grand Traverse Resort & Spa in Acme.
Other officers elected to the MiGCSA board include Vice President Scott Pulaski from Walloon Lake Country Club in Walloon Lake and Secretary/Treasurer Craig McKinley from Buck’s Run Golf Club in Mt. Pleasant.
The election marked the end of board service for Past President (2023) Doug Hoeh from Treetops Resort & Spa. Our deepest gratitude for his service to our industry. We also thank Kevin Rish, formerly from Saginaw Country Club, for his service to our board.
William “Skip” Connolly, from Alpine Golf Club in Grand Rapids was re-elected to his Western Region position. Two new board members, Jordan Caplan, CGCS from Belvedere Golf Club in Charlevoix, and Andrew Paxton from Spring Lake Country Club in Spring Lake were also elected to serve three-year terms.
The MiGCSA is dedicated to providing opportunities to members through programs and services that enhance and promote the profession. The MiGCSA has more than 800 Members and is managed by Executive Director Adam Ikamas, CGCS
