Dearborn Hills Closed For 2022
Dearborn Hills will be closed for the entire 2022 season, as it recovers from last year’s historic flooding on the Rouge River. Flooding closed for 42 days last year.
The course, routed along the river’s flood plain, dates to 1923. In its current configuration, Dearborn Hills is an “executive” style layout, measuring 4, 495 yards, with six par fours and twelve par threes. There is water in play on nearly every hole.
Dearborn Hills’ website says that the plan for this year is to “continue … maintenance activities throughout the summer, including working on a long-term strategy for logjam prevention in the Rouge River.”
Rumors abound that the course will be sold, but the City of Dearborn has said that there are no such plans.
Hopefully, a year’s worth of work will get this classic layout back in shape.
