Dominion Energy Classic Winners and History
The Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs begin with the Dominion Energy Charity Classic in Richmond, Virginia.
The tournament is played at the Country Club of Virginia. The James River course there stretches to 7, 025 yards and plays to a par 72.
Dominion Energy, aka Dominion, is a Virginia based power company that supplies parts of Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. It is also in the natural gas business.
For what it’s worth, Virginia’s nickname is the “Old Dominion State.” The origins of this are somewhat murky, but could be related to Virginia’s status as the first English colony, or to the colony of Virginia’s loyalty to the Royalist Cause in the English Civil War.
