The Dr. O Celebration Golf Outing to benefit Professional Golf Management scholarships at Ferris State will be held August 20 at Eagle Eye Golf Resort in Bath.
The event is named for Roger Ostrander, the recipient of the 2011 Golf Association of Michigan Distinguished Service Award. Over the years, Ostrander worked as a Golf Association of Michigan, Michigan PGA Section and USGA rules official. He officiated in various rules capacities at six US Open Championships, nine US Senior Opens, and 14 US Amateurs, as well as uncounted major Michigan tournaments. Ostrander also served as a Golf Association of Michigan Governor.
The Dr. O Celebration Golf Outing is an 18-hole, four-player scramble. The cost is $150 per person. For players without a complete team, outing organizers will arrange groups.
The entry fee includes greens fees, cart, range, prizes, hors d’oeuvres and a drink ticket. After the golf, a silent auction will feature many area sports collectable items.
