Former World Number One David Duval has famously struggled with his game since his Open Championship win in 2001. A variety of health issues have set him back, and in recent years, the story has been of his attempts to return to the TOUR on a variety of sponsors exemptions. It has been a real struggle for him. Duval now is ranked 1,528 in the world and has missed 22 of his last 28 cuts. Still, he occasionally shows flashes of the old brilliance. It seems, however that he now views the 2013-2014 season as his last hurrah. A couple of excerpts from Duval’s Twitter feed follow.
As I have written before, I’m pulling for Double D. He has been an interesting player and I think the professional game would be better for having him in the midst of things.
