Early Commitments To Rocket Mortgage Classic

Early Commitments To Rocket Mortgage Classic

Detroit’s Rocket Mortgage Classic is shaping up with a nice field. Here are some early commitments:

World Number 12 Tony Finau is of course returning as defending champion. Finau has had two wins in the 2022 – 2023 season and currently sits fourth in FedEx Cup standings (which is more of a “what have you done lately” measure than the OWGR).

Rocket Mortgage Spokesperson Rickie Fowler also is in. He’s 26th in the FedEx Cup standings and has had a bit of a resurgence in the 2022-2023 season, with five tip tens.

World 18 Collin Morikawa will play in his first Rocket Mortgage Classic. He has four top tens this season.

Max Homa, the world number six, has two wins this season. He’s currently third in the FedEx Cup standings and has 2 wins so far this season.

Tom Kim has two TOUR wins this season at the youthful age of 20. He’s currently 21st in the world and 19th in the FedEx Cup.

Kevin Kisner returns for another go at Detroit Golf Club. He has played the Rocket Mortgage every year since its debut in 2019. He finished third in 2020 and T8 in 2021.

The majority of the tournament’s 156-player field will be confirmed as final on Friday, June 23, with the likely addition of final player exemptions to complete the field just before the beginning of tournament week. Four players will earn entry through an open qualifier on Monday, June 26.
