Early Golf – Golf Poetry

Early Golf - Golf Poetry from Lyrics of the Links, published in 1921
EARLY GOLF

COURSE heavy,
Grass wet,
Slip, slide,
Cuss, fret.

Game over.
Got beat.
Bad case
Cold feet.

Pay caddie,
Pay bet.
Run home
And forget.

Next day,
As before,
Back again
For more.

J. H. Smith in Lyrics of the Links, published in 1921
