Fall Color At Washtenaw Golf Club

After a couple of rough no-golf weeks due to parent teacher conferences, various evening meetings and bad weather, I finally got out for a cool weather twilight round at Washtenaw (course link).

Autumn is my favorite season to play golf, and twilight is my favorite time, so it was a double dose of joy.

Sixteen at Washtenaw. This has long been the best place to see spectacular color.

The colors are mostly out at Washtenaw, but curiously, there are a number of trees that haven’t gotten the memo. This late in the season, I find it curious to see solid green trees among all the fiery ones.

Looking back on the tenth fairway.

The conditions on that day were terrific. The fairways were like carpets, the greens running fast, and leaves swept away. Kudos to the grounds crew.

The fifth at Washtenaw in all its fiery glory.

I did not play well at all, but it did not really matter. I do not get mad at bad shots, but view them as a learning opportunty. I had a lot of learning opportunities yesterday evening.

I think I figured it out by the end, though. I made good contact and had good direction on my last three shots. Now I just need to try to carry that feeling over to the next round.
