It’s just a few minutes from the school where I work, but I played my first round at the Woodlands at Van Buren for the first time last week. I know why I had never played there: I had heard that it was built around a landfill mountain. That’s true, but the landfill only intruded on a few holes. I had imagined that it would be smelly and unsightly, but that wasn’t the case. It was actually quite a pleasant round.
I’ll have a full review in a couple of days.
