At the US Women’s Open, actress Sally Field took her first golf lesson from former LPGA star Peggy Kirk Bell.
Field was at the Open to promote women’s health issues, especially osteoporosis. She was diagnosed with the disease last year.
“I would go to all these locations and think … why don’t I play golf? People walk around and enjoy God, God’s gifts, the trees, so I think I’ve always thought I should have that in my life,” Field said.
I saw her swing on NBC, which ran a feature on her on Saturday. Not bad for a first timer.
Field is 61. SIXTY ONE. She looks really good. Maybe the Golf Babes Blog should include a photo of her in a future post.
