Final 16 in Michigan PGA Match Play Battle at Tullymore Golf Resort

CANADIAN LAKES – The Michigan PGA Section Match Play Championship presented by the PGA Tour will be decided Monday and Tuesday at award-winning Tullymore Golf Resort.

The final 16 golfers have advanced from chapter or senior organization match play rounds to battle at Tullymore for the Jim Picard Trophy and $3,500 first-place prize out of a $15,100 purse.

Five-time champion Brian Cairns of Fox Hills Learning Center in Plymouth (2014, ’13, ’11, ’10, 1997) and defending champion Kyle Martin of the Lochmoor Club in Grosse Pointe Woods are among five former champions in this year’s final 16. The other past champions are 2012 winner Lee Houtteman of Manitou Passage in Cedar, 2009 champion John Seltzer of Blythefield Country Club in Grand Rapids and 1998 champion Ron Beurmann of Country

Club of Jackson.

Other notables in the final 16 include recent Michigan PGA Professional Champion Scott Hebert of Traverse City Golf & Country Club, and Gary Lewandowski, a part of the Tullymore Golf Resort staff as the head golf professional at St. Ives.

Round of 16 matches and the quarterfinal round will be played on Monday, with the semifinals and championship match on Tuesday on the Tullymore course. A complete bracket and more tournament information can be found at www.michiganpgagolf.com .
