Fitness Friday: Strengthen Your Core To Transform Your Golf Game
Now that the golf offseason is largely upon us, it is time to think about how to improve our games off the course.
One thing that I try to focus on is having a strong core. From the core comes the movement of the shoulders and upper torso which drive the arms and hands into the golf club. A stronger core means a more powerful swing.
It is also true that as we age, our core can weaken. That’s exactly the opposite of what we need. With a weak core, we are more likely to suffer falls, back pains and deteriorating posture.
I don’t need rippling biceps and shoulders. I do need a strong core, so much of my workout routine is focused on core exercises with the kettlebell.
Here’s one core strengthening exercise that I really like that doesn’t involve kettlebells.
