Footjoy WinterSof Gloves Review

FOOTJOY Wintersof Glove-Blk

FOOTJOY Wintersof Glove-Blk

Grade: A

I went shopping for a new pair of cold weather gloves last week (I can’t find last year’s anywhere) and discovered that Footjoy has redesigned their WinterSof line. It’s a marked improvement in both comfort and performance over the previous model.

The literature on the Footjoy and golf shop sites is a bit confusing. What they describe is not what I bought.

These gloves are the ones pictured above, with the double elasticized cuffs, and a circular FJ logo on the back. The gloves are a quilted soft fleece-like fabric on the back, and have a material on the palm that feels like suede.

FootJoy, however, claims that there’s a velcro fit strap. There isn’t. They also describe the backing as Thinsulite, and the palms as Cabretta leather. I doubt very seriously if the materials are as described.

But it’s a very good glove. I’ve now played two rounds using them and think they’re the best winter golf gloves I’ve ever worn. My hands stayed nice and warm, but I had no problem feeling the grips. My hands stayed firmly on the clubs. There’s also no bunching in the palms.

Heck, I like them so much, I’m going to get a pair for just wearing around town for driving gloves.
