For The Weekend: Black Grouse Scotch Whiskey Review

Black Grouse Scotch Whiskey Review

For a $25 scotch whiskey, Black Grouse is great value.

With strong initial flavors of smoke and peat, the Black Grouse settles down with a vanilla and caramel finish. It is reminiscent of a good bourbon in that, which is perhaps why I like it so much. The overall effect is smooth and easy.

Black Grouse is a blend, based on peated Islay malts. It is not possible to mistake this for a high end single malt, but I was not disappointed.

Drink this neat. It neither needs, nor deserves to be cut or mixed.
