Furyk, Duval, Stricker, Harrington Added To Hall of Fame Ballot

Three new names were added to the PGA Tour side of the 2013 World Golf Hall of Fame ballot: Jim Furyk, David Duval and Steve Stricker. On the International side, Padraig Harrington is thenew name.

Furyk, I think deserves a spot with his 16 tour wins and a Major (the 2003 US Open). Steve Stricker is one of my favorite players, but that lack of a Major is a glaring hole.

Then there’s David Duval. Going strictly by the numbers (13 tour wins and a Major—plus a stint at World #1), I think he makes it. But there’s just something about his career collapse that doesn’t fit right.

On the international side, Padraig Harrington is the new name, and I think he’s likely the strongest of the new candidates. Harrington has 14 European tour wins, 5 PGA tour wins and most importantly, three Majors.

  1. Yes I agree,

I find it hard to see David Duval being put into the golfing hall of fame. It’s hard to ignore the major drop in form over the last 10 years.

Padraig Harrington for mine would be a much worthier candidate.
