Web Simpson pushed ahead of Luke Donald for the PGA Tour money title this past weekend with a second place finish at the McGladrey. Simpson now leads Donald by $360,000 for the year, a feat which Donald can top only by finishing second or better at the Children’s Miracle Network Classic this week.
Both players will tee it up at Disney World, giving the event some unexpected excitement. For his part, Donald is chasing an historic double: securing the money title on both the PGA Tour and the European Tour. Simpson is chasing the five year exemption that win would give him.
It’s fall golf worth watching.
Here are the current PGA Tour Money leaders:
Rank – Player – Events – Earnings
1 – Webb Simpson – 25 – 6,200,243
2 – Luke Donald – 18 – 5,837,214
3 – Nick Watney – 22 – 5,290,673
4 – K.J. Choi – 22 – 4,434,691
5 – Dustin Johnson – 21 – 4,309,961

I was looking at Luke’s swing recently and noticed he finished in a reverse “C” position. This move was popular in the 70’s. But as golfers started hurting their backs that ended up changing. I feel like his game may be under some stress as a result of this move. You just don’t get to your left side as well. We will see how he pans out.
