Gillis Falls To Fourth At Champions Tour Q School In Third Round

After being tied at the top after the first two rounds at the PGA TOUR Champions Q School Finals, Michigan’s Tom Gillis fell to fourth with a third round 70.

Gillis, a native of Pontiac, is nine under. He played 26 events on PGA TOUR Champions in 2020-21.

The top-5 finishers after the fourth round will be fully exempt into open, full-field events for PGA TOUR Champions in the 2022 season. In addition, players finishing sixth through 30th will be eligible to compete in open qualifiers on PGA TOUR Champions in 2022.

Leading after the third round is David Branshaw, who shot a 3 under 68 in the third round. Branshaw now is 11 under. He had joined Gillis atop the leaderboard after the second round.

Tied for second are Thongchai Jaidee and Rob Labritz at 10-under.

Tee times for Friday’s final round will run from 8:00 – 10:12 a.m. (ET) off the Nos. 1 and 10 tees at TPC Tampa Bay.
