This golf and bicycle clothing ad appeared in the May 20, 1898 issue of the Ann Arbor Argus.

The Argus was a weekly paper that eventually merged with the Ann Arbor Democrat and Ypsilanti Weekly Times to become the Ann Arbor Argus-Democrat.

The name was revived in 1969 as the title of a counterculture underground newspaper closely aligned with John Sinclair’s White Panther Party and the Students for a Democratic Society. That paper lasted until 1971.
