I am convinced that someone on the production and/or writing end of The Walking Dead horror television programs was a golfer. Or perhaps it was Robert Kirkman, the creator of the comic on which the series is based.

Golf turns up several times during the eleven seasons of the original and the eight seasons of its companion show, Fear The Walking Dead.

In episode 412, Darryl and Beth find themselves at a post-apocalyptic country club.

The “Governor,” who features prominently in a couple of seasons of the show is a golf fan, who hits balls off the top of a trailer at the zombies.

He also murders his henchman, Caesar Martinez with a golf club.

In Fear The Walking Dead, anti-hero Victor Strand also is a golfer, who hits shots off a matt into a horde of zombies outside his compound.

Victor also has the post-apocalypse version of an automatic ball loader.

Such are the privileges of a tyrant.

Killing zombies might be the best use of a 1-iron.
