I think it very likely this is a gag gift that sat in a closet for several years before being donated in a bin of odds and ends.

Don’t give golf gag gifts. Buy your golfer a box of balls instead.

Or tees. Or a gift certificate to GolfNow. Or a gift certificate to the local pro shop.

Heck, the $20 spent on this could have been donated the local First Tee.
