Fujikura Named Title Sponsor of Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship

Carlsbad, Calif. (Feb. 4, 2020) – Fujikura, the leader in performance golf shafts, will be the title sponsor of the 5th Annual Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship, set for February 28 – March 1, 2020 at TPC Myrtle Beach and hosting an international field of 90 of the world’s elite junior golfers.

Fujikura Tour reps will be on site providing product demos and Tour-level fittings to the juniors in the field, showcasing Fujikura’s new performance golf shafts including the acclaimed Ventus line and the new Motore X line. Players will have the opportunity to be fit into the new shafts using launch monitors under the watchful eye of experienced Fujikura representatives, bringing the Tour-level experience these event participants receive to a new level.

The tournament, for boys and girls ages 13-18, will feature 90 players from around the world and will be played at TPC Myrtle Beach February 28 – March 1, 2020. The renowned Tom Fazio/Lanny Wadkins design was home to the 2000 Senior Tour Championship and 2019 NCAA Division I Men’s Southeast Regional and was built with the idea of hosting Tour-level events. Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship participants get the Tour-caliber experience both on and off the course – including commemorative gift packages, names on their lockers, named placards on the practice range and a PGA TOUR-style scoreboard overlooking the 18th green – to provide players an overall experience similar to what Dustin Johnson enjoys in his professional events.

“We have a renewed focus on junior golf and growing the game, and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of this world-class event,” said David Schnider, president of Fujikura Composite America.

FOX Sports becomes title sponsor of AJGA Junior-Am Series

BRASELTON, GA – FOX Sports joins the AJGA to support the AJGA Junior-Am Fundraising tournament series and 2020 FOX Sports Championship. FOX Sports has major broadcasting contracts with NFL, MLB, NASCAR, soccer, college football and basketball, WWE and USGA events.

The AJGA Junior-Am Fundraising series is similar in format to a Pro-Am, designed to help local junior golf programs and the AJGA Foundation. The events offer an opportunity for members of the community to play a round of golf with the nation’s top-ranked juniors at AJGA venues. FOX Sports will have 25 Junior-Am teams to use throughout the AJGA schedule.

As the title sponsor of the FOX Sports Championship presented by Stuart Francis, Princeton Varsity Golf ‘74, the event brings a national junior golf event back to Princeton, New Jersey, for the first time since 2018. Springdale Country Club plays host to the 54-hole stroke play event, July 27-30.

Since acquiring broadcasting rights to USGA events, FOX Sports has helped progress several new technologies during its production including drone flyovers, live shot tracers and green contour displays. FOX Sports’ Sunday final round coverage of the 119th U.S. Open peaked with more than 10-million viewers on FOX.

FOX Sports televised eight USGA Championships in 2019, including the 72nd U.S. Junior Amateur Championship and the 71st U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship. The two events combined had more than 275 current AJGA members and alumni competing.

“The involvement of FOX Sports gives us a great opportunity to involve a nationally recognized sports broadcast partner,” said AJGA Chief Business Officer Jason Etzen. “The support of FOX Sports on a junior golf level will help preserve and grow the game for years to come by keeping players interested in the possible career options in addition to playing professional competitive golf.”
