Golf Re-Enactors

I have a friend, who, on many weekends each year ventures out into the woods dressed as a British soldier from the War of 1812. There, he gathers with other like-minded individuals to recreate the life of soldiers of that period—including re-enacting various battles, complete with cannon, musket and cavalry.

I have absolutely no desire to join him.

But I have thought about golf re-enacting—going out on a course dressed in plus-fours to do battle with hickory sticks and gutta percha balls. There are quite a few historical golf societies out there. The Star has an interesting article on the Golf Historical Society of Canada.
