GolfLogix Green Book

Teacher’s Comments: There’s a place for these, even in the era of laser rangefinders and GPS. Expensive.

If the golfer in your life has a “home course,” a GolfLogix Green Book could help them score better in crucial moments.

Green Books are a throwback in this digital age. These physical maps of a course’s greens, showing both the flow and speed of the greens from various points. They’re not cheap, but worth it if a golfer plays a single course regularly.

The Total Golf Trainer is a Swiss Army knife that can help a golfer recognize and repeat key positions during the swing. With the different attachments, a player can work on:

The Back Thing

Teacher’s Comments: Just what my old back needed

Made in the USA from tough fabric, foam padding and birchwood slats, The Back Thing is designed to provide lumbar support in seats where there is none — such as golf carts.

The Back Thing actually comes in several different widths, one of which is designed for those atrocious golf cart seats. If the golfer in your life has a Back Thing, it just might prevent that sore back that ruins those late-round swings.

Golf Erasers

Golf Erasers
Grade: B
Teacher’s Comments: Work as advertised, but I’m not sure if anyone needs them.

Golf Erasers are a combination scouring pad and Mr. Clean style magic eraser cut in the shape of a hockey puck. A hole in the center allows you to suspend a bunch on the included bag tag.

The idea is that golfers will use them to clean their clubs during a round, or their shoes afterwards.

I keep them on my bag for stubborn grass and dirt in my wedge grooves.
