Saintnine Golf Balls: Extreme Soft Gold and UPro
Grade: A
Teacher’s Comments: I’ve enjoyed playing these balls
One of the surprises of the summer for me was how much I liked the Saintnine Golf Balls. The Extreme Soft Gold is in the same product category as higher end offerings such as the Bridgestone Tour B RXS (see below). The UPro compares to the Callaway SuperSoft and unusually for a $25 dollar-a-box ball, has a urethane cover.
An interesting — and cute — touch, is that each Saintnine ball is emblazoned with the icon of an animal that Saintnine calls “Mental Mates.” Each of these characters is supposed to help you improve your game by providing a better state of mind.

Bridgestone Tour B RX and RXS
Bridgestone Tour B RX and RXS
Grade: A
Teachers’ Comments: This ball really flies, but still can be controlled around the greens. I want a season’s supply of the Tour B RX.
Tiger Woods plays a Bridgestone Tour B golf ball, and I find that it is the exception to my general rule that equipment designed for the pros is not good for my game.

Volvik XT Soft Golf Ball
Grade: B
Teachers’ Comments: Performs well, but I think it feels muted.
The Volvik XT Soft could be a good choice for a golfer who prefers a softer feeling ball. While it felt a bit too soft for my tastes, others will no doubt find it ideal.
