I had previously reviewed GolfLogix’s Green Books, finding them a useful addition to a golfer’s arsenal in their war against the course.

Recently GolfLogix sent one of their new leather covers, along with a new green book for one of my favorite courses: the Alistair MacKenzie/Perry Maxwell designed University of Michigan Golf Course.

The leather cover solves a problem I had discovered after writing my review: how to keep the relatively expensive books in good shape. I have been keeping mine in a scorecard holder, but it didn’t quite fit.

The GolfLogix leather cover fits perfectly (of course). It is available in black and brown and is sturdily constructed. Elastic bands hold the green book in place.

My only suggestions is that future models should have an elastic band on the bottom back that can be flipped around and used to hold the book closed. I have a couple of scorecard holders with that particular feature.

I’ve opened the Green Book to the humorously peculiar sixth green at the University of Michigan Golf Club. I haven’t taken the book out to play since receiving it, but the diagram perfectly matches my memory of the hole. If you’re on the wrong tier of this green, you’re looking at a three putt — or worse — unless you can read it perfectly. Thus, the utility of the Green Book.
