Green Oaks Offers Juniors Camps and Leagues

My favorite local course, Green Oaks, in Ypsilanti, has started a junior golf program.

Start Smart Golf! runs from June 24 to July 29 and is an introductory program for children ages 5 – 7. Start Smart is a parent-child participation program designed for absolute beginners. Cost is $40 for residents and $50 for non-residents.

The Junior Golf Camp runs from June 23 to July 14 and is designed to teach proper fundamentals. Students should bring a 7 or 9 iron and a putter. The classes will be run by PGA golf professional Justin Blair. Cost is $30 for residents and $40 for non-residents.

The Green Oaks Golf Junior league runs from July 21 to August 18. Designed for students from 8 – 17 years of age, it focuses on playing. The $65 cost includes greens fees.

Ages 8-9 Day:     Tuesday    1:00PM      07/21/15 – 08/11/15
Ages 10-12 Day: Tuesday   12:30PM     07/21/15 – 08/11/15
Ages 13-18 Day: Tuesday   12:00PM     07/21/14 – 08/11/14

Junior Camps and leagues are a great idea to grow the game. Once a kid is hooked, she or he will be a customer for a lifetime.
