Golfweek has an analysis of a course that most golfers are unfamiliar with: Kiawah Island’s Ocean Course, site of the 2012 PGA Championship.
By all accounts, the Ocean Course should really challange the Tour pros, offering vast waste and swampy areas in the face of shifting winds (the course is laid out in a figure 8, so wind direction will shift as the players go through)
One saving grace, though. All of the sand will be played as “waste areas;” under the local rules, there are no bunkers on the course.
