Peter McCleery has a review of NBC’s coverage of the US Open. He says that there was way too much punditry.
I agree. I thought that it was a bit like coverage of the last election where the big media was sure that the “brilliant” John Kerry was going to defeat the “moron” George Bush. On Saturday night, NBC had all but given Goosen the trophy.
So much for pundits.

WHEN IS THE PGA GOING TO TELECAST IN HIGH DEFINETION. THE MASTERS WAS THE ONLY TOURNAMENT SO FAR THIS YR. WE WANT GOLF IN HD.
I personally dislike when the espn guys like Chris Berman get into the booth and on the course.
I don’t want to hear Chris Berman’s stupid names he makes up like “Fred Funk Railroad” etc…
A little about this here: http://www.hookedongolfblog.com/?p=270
Not offered in high definition. They offer other sporting events in high def. If you don’t think this is a big deal, you don’t own the equipment and have never enjoyed the viewing experience.
Why wouldn’t you call the tournament for Goosen? He’s proved he can hang on to win, Tiger was way back, and much as I wanted Gore to win, it was unlikely. You want bias and punditry, tune in to CBS during the men’s NCAA hoops tourney. Nantz mentions Duke so many times you’d have to conclude he’s getting a little kickback.
